Naga Excavators – Dotted around the map your Runners group will come across 4 Excavators. Your Runner’s group will appear south-west of your base and you won’t be able to send units from your base to help out. Have a few extra units nearby and your base should be secure for the entire mission. You’ll be attacked from the south west and the north west entrance so build 4 or 5 Ancient Protectors at each entrance. Build up the defenses of your base first of all by rearranging your Ancient Protectors and building more. You’ll need to divert your attention between the Runner’s group with Maive and the Elf base. Naga Excavators (Optional) – Kill all four of the Naga Excavators.Įscape to the Sea – Load the Runner onto a transport and sail her out to sea.
When you liberate the last Acolyte (probably out of the Caged area), you will see a cutscene, and the Dread Lord will return, ready to give you a new mission.The Runner’s Transport – Bring the Runner to the Night Elf transports. This Warhorse is penned up inside a Guard post, so you will actually have to kill several knights and footmen first, then destroy the Barracks, just to get at the warhorses. The only real secret in this mission is that one of the Warhorses has a magical treasure, usually a Ring of Protection +2, hidden on its inventory. He'll find all your Acolytes for you, and the guards too, without you having to risk Prince Arthas. He is invisible to all the Human units (on this map, anyway), so feel free to send him forward to scout the way. When you're nearly done with the quest, take all your forces and assault this area.įinally your last helpful tool is the Shade, who looks like a black smoky ghost and will be found pretty early in the game.
One of the warhorses in the guard station has a magic ring. You can also gain reinforcements by reaching the Graveyard which is in the center of the map. You can also have Prince Arthas kill as many townsfolk and guards as possible, so he levels up quicker (which is pretty evil, but hey, you're Undead). And remember after each battle to have the Ghouls eat the dead bodies to heal themselves (pretty gross, but that's how it goes). Keep them well behind you, and use them as back-ups only if you run into too many guards.
Keep to the edges of the road, and on the back alleys, and you'll be much safer. Keep an eye on the guards though when you first spot them, they have pre-set patrolling patterns and will leave you alone if they don't spot you. You can also run for it, since your horse hero is faster than the foot soldiers. You must be careful not to upset the townsfolk, who will yelp for the guards, and if you do encounter guards, try to kill them off as fast as possible before reinforcements arrive. You must rescue all twenty, and they are scattered throughout a heavily populated town. You are using Prince Arthas to sneak around town and "liberate" your Undead acolytes. Except you're not really blowing stuff up here.
